Claire Waffel

In the context of an anthropogenically exacerbated water crisis, my artistic research focuses on the coastal zone and highlights relationships between communities, climate change and futures. I work with lens-based media, speculative storying and community engagement in order to produce situated, embodied and place-based accounts of climate change. Key elements of my artistic methodologies are to record, imagine and perform alternative futures in person and collaboratively, therefore creating counter-narratives through active forms of participation. My work aims to expand our ecological imaginaries and create pathways for engagement with the environment.
